A floatation tank or room is an enclosed chamber filled with approximately ten inches of warm water that is maintained at close to skin temperature and contains about 800 lbs. of Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate). The resulting solution is so dense that any of us will easily float supine with the entire body at or near the surface of the water.
This buoyancy counteracts the effects of gravity, giving the floater a sensation of weightlessness. Our Float Cabins can be pitch-black and silent or have soft music and subtle lighting. By minimizing or eliminating sensory input, the floater feels relaxed, detached, free, and at peace. Virtually everyone finds the experience immensely pleasant.
The results are as unique as each person floating; some experience a simple deep relaxation of their body, some experience profound meditative insights, some see existing pain disappear. The reality for most of us in the beginning, is somewhere in the middle, a unique and pleasant experience that is unlike any you’ve tried before.
Among the many experienced benefits of floating: improved health and well-being, deepened meditation and heightened senses, relief of physical pain due to inflammation, increased magnesium absorption, psoriasis and eczema conditions have seen improvement, persons feel less mental stress and anxiety, and have improved sleep and immune function, and increased healing and rejuvenation.
Sanitation in the Float Tank
Our system is designed with the sanitation in mind. Our tanks are likely to have some of the cleanest water you’ve ever been in. Our filtration systen operates 24 hours a day. We rigorously measure and maintain the water levels, specific gravity, and temperature of the tanks. The water in the float tank is about 30% Epsom salt, which is a difficult environment for a lot of bacteria to live in. Between each client the entirety of the water is filtered through a 1-10 micron filter multiple times, skimmers are used to keep the surface completely clear and the water is sanitized by High powered UV lights and Hydrogen Peroxide. We manually inspect and test the water throughout the day with your saftey in mind, so you know your float experience will be pristine.
